Everyone states that they care deeply about the environment, but do nothing about it. I believe that we should all be focusing on taking care of our world because once it is destroyed we can never get it back. Most of us, including myself, do not change our words into actions. However, there is a non-governmental organization that does this for us and they are called Greenpeace. The main focus of this organization is to change the attitudes and behaviours of the world, conserve the environment and to promote peace. They try to complete these goals by:

• Catalyzing an energy revolution
• Defending our oceans
• Protecting the world’s ancient forests
• Working for disarmament and peace
• Creating a toxic free future
• Campaigning for sustainable agriculture

Greenpeace has been working against environment degradation for 40 years and has made a lot of progress. Throughout this blog I will be telling you about there many victories and about their current objectives. I chose this topic because I want to learn more about the environmental problems we face in our world today and how we, the general public, can help. I find this organization very interesting as they do not use violence and there message still comes across. They mainly centre around the issue of the environment and in university I plan to go into this field. Blogging about something that I find very interesting will make this experience enjoyable. I hope to learn many new things from my own blog as well as my other classmates’ topics.
